Right after the Kriek (Cherry) Lambic, we’ve introduced, in July 2000, the Raspberry version of our CHERISH Belgian Lambic. Although Kriek Lambic is the most popular flavor in Belgium, responsible for over 70 % of its Lambic consumption, in the USA it is the Raspberry that is the most popular flavor, followed by the Kriek.

Why is that? One explanation we heard during one of our many beer dinners is that the USA beer drinker generally has had to drink so much cherry-flavored couch syrup as a child, that she and he developed an aversion for cherry flavored stuff. Whether or not that’s true, who knows, but it might be part of the answer.

For those of you with such an averse reaction, give the CHERISH Kriek a try anyway, it doesn’t taste like cough syrup. You will be surprised about the right balance between the sourness of the Lambic and the sweetness of the fruit. The aroma of the cherries is not too dominant. You still taste the beer, which gives a very pleasant and refreshing feeling in the mouth, with a smooth cherry aftertaste. The CHERISH Kriek Lambic is an excellent thirst quencher thanks to its underlying sourness.

The CHERISH Raspberry Lambic will surprise you with such a pleasant discovery of taste and aroma. Not too sweet and not too sour, with still the underlying taste of an exceptional good beer. Taste the on-the-mark balance. Simply exceptional Belgian brewing art!

The CHERISH Lambics, all two of them, are beers to have fun with. You can drink plenty of them, since all three CHERISH Lambics only offer 5 % alcohol by volume. Every one will ask you where you got these fabulous beers. Some will even ask if it really is beer. Just answer: "It’s the way women invented beer thousands of years ago!"
