VESTINI

The Vestini were an ancient people who inhabited what is now the Abruzzi region of Italy. Even during Roman times they were noted for the excellent wine produced on their rolling hills facing the Adriatic Sea. Today, the winemaking in this region is experiencing a renaissance and achieving a worldwide reputation. Lorenzo Scarpone, the owner of Villa Italia, is a descendent of Abruzzi’s ancient Vestini. Lorenzo grew up on his family’s farm and still maintains contact with the local growers. These growers have been the source for Villa Italia's own private label wines known as Vestini.
